FISHERIES (SCALEFISH) RULES 1998 (S.R. 1998, NO. 63) - REG 109

109. Limits on taking and possessing small pelagic species

The holder of a fishing licence (personal) must not, in State waters, take or have possession of more than the following limits:

(a) king garfish ( Scomberesox forsteri ), 20 kilograms;

(b) anchovies ( Engraulis australis ), 10 kilograms;

(c) pilchards ( Sardinops neopilchardus ), 10 kilograms;

(d) sprats (family Clupidae), 10 kilograms;

(e) blue sprats (family Dussumieriidae), 10 kilograms;

(f) hardyheads (family Atherinidae), 10 kilograms.

Penalty:

Fine not exceeding the applicable Grade 2 penalty.
