CRIMES ACT 1958 - SECT 547

Definition of forfeiture and convict

The word forfeiture in the construction of this Part shall not include any fine or penalty imposed on any convict by virtue of his sentence, and the expression convict [51] shall be deemed to mean any person against whom after the passing of this Act judgment of imprisonment has been pronounced or recorded by any court of competent jurisdiction in Victoria upon any charge of treason or indictable offence.
