19. State Coroner may investigate a reviewable death
(1) The State Coroner may investigate a death that is or may be a reviewable
death without referring the death to the Institute if he or she considers that
it is necessary and appropriate to do so.
(2) The State Coroner must advise the Institute if he or she decides not to
refer a reviewable death to the Institute.
(3) A power under subsection (1) includes a power to investigate whether the
death is a reviewable death.
