49. Notices and provision of information by principal registrar



(1) The principal registrar must notify the Director of Public Prosecutions if
the coroner investigating the death or fire believes an indictable offence may
have been committed in connection with the death or fire.

(2) The principal registrar must notify the Registrar of Births, Deaths and
Marriages, without delay, of the prescribed particulars found by the coroner
following an investigation of a death.

(3) The principal registrar must notify the Consultative Council on Obstetric
and Paediatric Mortality and Morbidity under the
Public Health and Wellbeing Act 2008 of the particulars of-

   (a)  any maternal death within the meaning of section 46(3) of that Act
        reported to the coroner; or

   (b)  the death of a child reported to the coroner.

(4) The principal registrar must provide prescribed information to prescribed
bodies.
