Victorian Current Acts Victorian Current Acts(1) The Minister, in consultation with the Treasurer, may approve a scheme of compensation for making payment to any person who surrenders to the Chief Commissioner a firearm which he or she lawfully owned immediately before it became unlawful to own that firearm.
(2) A payment made under a scheme approved by the Minister under subsection (1) must be paid from the Consolidated Fund which is hereby to the necessary extent appropriated accordingly.
