Western Australian Consolidated Acts (1) Despite an offence
against this Act being a crime, a court of summary jurisdiction may hear and
determine proceedings in respect of the offence if the court is satisfied that
it is proper to do so and the accused and the prosecutor consent.
(2) Where, in
accordance with subsection (1), a court of summary jurisdiction convicts
a person of an offence, the penalty that the court may impose is imprisonment
for a period not exceeding 3 years and a fine not exceeding $60 000.
