Western Australian Consolidated Acts (1) The Minister is to
carry out a review of the operation and effectiveness of this
Act —
(a) not
later than 5 years after its commencement; and
(b) not
later than 5 years after the tabling of the report on that review and
after the tabling of each subsequent report on a review.
(2) For the purposes
of conducting a review under subsection (1) the Minister may request the
Director to provide a report about the nature of complaints made under
Part 6.
(3) If so requested,
the Director is to provide a report but is not to include in it the name of
any complainant.
(4) In the course of a
review under subsection (1) the Minister is to consider and have regard
to —
(a) the
effectiveness of the operations of the Commission and the need for its
continuation;
(b) the
effectiveness of the Council and its functions and the need for its
continuation;
(c) the
effectiveness of grants under Part 4 in furthering the principles in
Schedule 1;
(d) the
effectiveness of Part 6;
(e) any
report by the Director provided under subsection (3); and
(f) such
other matters as appear to the Minister to be relevant to the operation and
effectiveness of this Act.
(5) The Minister must
prepare a report based on each review and shall, as soon as practicable after
it is prepared, cause it to be tabled before each House of Parliament.
