Western Australian Consolidated Acts (1) If no candidate is
nominated for an election, or if no candidate is returned as elected at an
election, the election shall be deemed to have wholly failed, and a new writ
shall forthwith be issued for a supplementary election.
(2) If an insufficient
number of candidates is nominated for an election in a region where the
relevant number is more than one, or if an insufficient number of candidates
is returned as elected at such an election, the election shall be deemed to
have partially failed, and a new writ shall forthwith be issued for a
supplementary election to fill the remaining vacancy or vacancies, as the case
may be.
