Western Australian Consolidated Acts (1) An officer who
suspects that it is necessary to do so for the purpose of preventing the
spread of an exotic disease may require, by an order (in this
Act referred to as a local quarantine order ) given, either verbally or
in writing, to the owner, or person in apparent charge or control, of it, that
any land, place, premises or vehicle specified in that order be quarantined
and kept secure so as to prohibit or restrict the movement of any animal,
animal product, fodder or fittings into, within or from that land, place,
premises or vehicle.
(2) Where a local
quarantine order affects land, or any place, or premises, the order may
prohibit or restrict the movement of any vehicle onto, on or from the land,
place or premises.
(3) A local quarantine
order may prohibit or restrict the movement of any receptacle or other thing
suspected of being capable of carrying an exotic disease agent, and which is
of a kind specified in the order, within or from the land, place, premises or
vehicle affected by the order.
