Western Australian Consolidated Acts Western Australian Consolidated Acts (1) A person who,
without lawful authority, directly or indirectly, records, uses, or discloses
confidential information obtained by reason of any function that the person
has, or at any time had, in the administration of this Act commits an offence.
Penalty: imprisonment for 12 months and a
fine of $12 000.
(2) In
subsection (1) —
confidential information includes information that
the person has a duty to keep confidential regardless of how the duty of
confidentiality arises.
