Western Australian Consolidated Acts (1) The Commissioner
may construct roads or parts of roads for the development of an area or for
any other purpose, and any such road need not be declared to be a highway, a
main road or a secondary road.
(2) Before commencing
the construction of any road pursuant to this section, the Commissioner shall
consult with the local government and when that road, or any part thereof, has
been constructed or any work executed thereon, that road or part shall be the
responsibility of the local government of the district in which it is situated
and shall be maintained by that local government.
(3) The Commissioner
and officers acting under this Act shall have the same powers with regard to
roads under this section as are by this Act conferred on them regarding
highways and main roads, and the provisions of this Act regarding highways and
main roads shall, as far as practicable, apply mutatis mutandis to any such
roads.
