Western Australian Consolidated Acts Subject to the
directions of the Commissioner of Police, a police officer may, upon the
request of the chief executive officer or a prison officer, assist in the
exercise or performance of any power or duty conferred or imposed by this Act
and when so acting a police officer, in addition to the powers and duties
conferred and imposed on him by or under any other law, shall have the powers
and be subject to the responsibilities and shall receive the protection from
liability which in like circumstances would be conferred or imposed on a
prison officer.
