Western Australian Consolidated Acts (1) The Minister has
the following functions —
(a) to
promote the occupational safety and health of persons engaged in petroleum
operations or geothermal energy operations;
(b) to
develop and implement effective monitoring and enforcement strategies to
secure compliance by persons with their occupational safety and health
obligations under this Act;
(c) to
investigate accidents, occurrences and circumstances that affect, or have the
potential to affect, the occupational safety and health of persons engaged in
petroleum operations or geothermal energy operations;
(d) to
advise persons, either on the Minister’s own initiative or on request,
on occupational safety and health matters relating to petroleum operations or
geothermal energy operations.
(2) The Minister has
power to do all things necessary or convenient to be done for or in connection
with the performance of the Minister’s functions.
