Western Australian Consolidated Acts (1) A member of a
committee shall, subject to this section, hold office for such period not
exceeding 3 years as is specified in the instrument of his appointment,
but is eligible for re-appointment.
(2) If a member of a
committee —
(a) is,
according to the Interpretation Act 1984 section 13D, a bankrupt or
a person whose affairs are under insolvency laws; or
(b) dies
or otherwise becomes permanently incapable of performing his duties as such a
member; or
(c)
resigns his office by writing under his hand addressed to the Minister; or
(d)
absents himself, except on leave duly granted by the Minister, from 3
consecutive meetings of the committee (for which purpose where a meeting has
been adjourned and reconvened each part of that meeting shall be taken to
constitute a separate meeting) of which he has had notice,
the office of that
member becomes vacant.
(3) The Minister may
grant leave of absence to a member of a committee on such terms and conditions
as the Minister determines.
(4) The members of a
committee may be paid such remuneration and allowances as the Minister
determines.
