Western Australian Consolidated Acts (1) Where jurisdiction
to hear and determine any proceedings or deal with any other matter was
immediately before the coming into operation of this Act exercisable by any
controlling authority, racing club, committee or stewards, or other
person —
(a) any
proceedings or other matter commenced before that jurisdiction was conferred
on the Tribunal may be continued and determined or dealt with, and any
proceedings in the nature of an appeal arising therefrom may be taken and
disposed of, as if this Act had not come into operation; and
(b) any
legal or other proceedings or any remedies that might, but for this Act, have
been commenced or available under that jurisdiction may be commenced and shall
be available before the Tribunal, notwithstanding that the act or omission to
which the proceedings or remedy relates occurred prior to the coming into
operation of this Act.
(2) The Minister may,
as to any matter connected with the transfer of jurisdiction under this Act to
the Tribunal, give directions as to the matter and the matter shall be dealt
with in accordance with those directions.
(3) Nothing in this
section affects the operation of the Interpretation Act 1984 .
