Western Australian Consolidated Acts (1) On —
(a) the
expiration of the term of office of the Pro-Chancellor; or
(b) the
position of the Pro-Chancellor becoming vacant,
the Senate shall elect
one of its members to be the Pro-Chancellor of the University.
(2) Subject to
section 11, the Pro-Chancellor holds office for an initial term of up to
4 years, and from a day, that is determined by the Senate.
(3) A person who has
held office as Pro-Chancellor for an initial term is eligible to hold office
for a subsequent term or terms as long as —
(a) any
consecutive period of membership does not exceed 12 years; and
(b) the
person continues to be a member of the Senate.
(4) The election for
the office of Pro-Chancellor shall be held and conducted in the manner
prescribed by regulations.
