Western Australian Consolidated Acts (1) A WELS inspector
may enter WELS premises and exercise the powers set out in subsection (3)
if the occupier of the premises consents to the entry and the exercise of
those powers.
(2) Before obtaining
consent, the WELS inspector must inform the occupier that the occupier may
refuse consent, or withdraw consent, at any time.
(3) For the purposes
set out in section 47, a WELS inspector who enters WELS premises in
accordance with subsection (1) may do one or more of the
following —
(a)
search the premises and any thing (including a vehicle) on the premises;
(b)
inspect, examine, take measurements of or conduct tests on any thing on the
premises;
(c) take
photographs, make video or audio recordings or make sketches of the premises
or any thing on the premises;
(d)
inspect any book, record or document on the premises;
(e) take
extracts from or make copies of any such book, record or document;
(f) take
onto the premises such equipment and materials as the WELS inspector requires
for the purposes of exercising powers in relation to the premises;
(g)
operate equipment on the premises for the purposes of gaining access to a
document or record relating to one or more WELS products.
