Western Australian Consolidated Acts (1) A detention order
is an order that the defaulter be detained in a detention centre for failing
to pay the amount concerned.
(2) The period of
detention is to be calculated under the regulations by reference to the unpaid
amount of the amount concerned.
(3) If the court makes
a detention order it is required to issue a warrant of commitment accordingly.
(4) The period of
detention under such a warrant of commitment is to be served concurrently with
any other term or period of detention or imprisonment that the defaulter is
serving or has to serve.
(5) Service of the
period of detention under such a warrant of commitment discharges the
defaulter from the liability to pay the amount concerned.
