ANIMAL WELFARE ACT 2002 - SECT 21

21 .         Defence — veterinary care

                It is a defence to a charge under section 19(1) (other than an offence committed in circumstances described in section 19(3)(g)) for a person to prove that the person was a veterinarian, or was acting on the instructions of a veterinarian, and was providing the animal with veterinary care in accordance with generally accepted veterinary practices.
