(1) An inspector may
seize an animal —
(a) if
the inspector reasonably suspects that an offence under Part 3 is being, or
has been, committed in respect of the animal; or
(b)
under a warrant issued under section 60.
(2) An inspector who
seizes an animal is to ensure that it is properly treated and cared for
(including the provision of veterinary care if that is appropriate) until it
is dealt with in accordance with section 44 or 45.
