(1) A scientific
inspector who reasonably suspects that a person is using animals for
scientific purposes or is carrying on business supplying animals for use for
scientific purposes may ask the person —
(a) for
the person’s name, usual place of residence and date of birth; and
(b)
whether the person is a licensee or a member of the staff or a student of a
licensee; and
(c) in
the case of a member of staff or a student, for the name and address of the
licensee.
(2) A person must not,
without reasonable excuse, fail to answer truthfully a question asked under
subsection (1).
Penalty: $2 000.
