2 These rules are made by the Judges of the Family Court under
section 142 of the Adoption Act 1994. Section 142(2) of
the Act provides —
“
If no provision is made by law or rule under subsection (1) in
relation to a matter for which rules may be made under that
subsection —
(a) the provisions of the rules and regulations under the Family Court
Act 1975 that are most nearly applicable in relation to the matter are
to apply; or
(b) if there is no provision such as that mentioned in paragraph (a),
the rules and regulations under the Family Law Act 1975 of the
Commonwealth that are most nearly applicable in relation to the matter are to
apply.
