Western Australian Consolidated Regulations (1) Notwithstanding
the provisions of regulation 36 a pharmacist is authorised to supply for
veterinary use a poison included in Schedule 4 listed in Appendix H
without a prescription where —
(a) the
purchaser satisfies such pharmacist that it is not reasonably practicable for
him to obtain such a prescription; and
(b) the
name and address of the purchaser, date of supply, form and quantity of poison
supplied, species of animal and number of animals to be treated, and a
descriptive name of the disease for which the animals are to be treated, are
entered in a register of poisons; and
(c) the
quantity of poisons supplied is not greater than is required to provide
72 hours of therapeutic treatment according to the directions for normal
dosage with the poison, or in the case of a pre‑packed proprietary brand
the smallest size manufactured for sale of the proprietary brand which
provides 72 hours treatment; and
(d) the
pharmacist provides adequate written instructions for the use of the poison.
