Western Australian Consolidated Regulations (1) The Executive
Director may determine any applicant for a licence to keep waterfowl in
captivity to be in one of the following groups —
(a)
Group 1 — persons who should be allowed to keep only the
following species —

Black Duck ( Anas superciliosa ). |
|
Grey Teal ( Anas gibberifrons ). |
|
Maned Goose ( Chenonetta jubata ). |
|
Mountain Duck ( Tadorna tadornoides ). |
|
Plumed Tree Duck ( Dendrocygna eytoni ). |
(b)
Group 2 — persons who may be allowed to keep all the species
in paragraph (a) above and in addition —
|
White‑eyed Duck ( Aythya australis ). |
|
Green Pygmy Goose ( Nettapus pulchellus ). |
|
White‑quilled Pygmy Goose ( Nettapus coromandelainus ). |
|
Whistling Tree Duck ( Dendrocygna arcuata ). |
(c)
Group 3 — persons who may be allowed to keep any or all of the
species in paragraphs (a) and (b) above and in
addition —
|
Pink‑eared Duck ( Malacorhynchus membranaceus ). |
|
Blue‑billed Duck ( Oxyura australis ). |
|
White‑headed Shelduck ( Tadorna radjah ). |
|
Musk Duck ( Biziura lobata ). |
|
Freckled Duck ( Stictonetta naevosa ). |
|
Other species of waterfowl including the — |
|
Black Swan ( Cygnus atratus ). |
|
Coot ( Fulica atra ). |
|
Dusky Moorhen ( Gallinula tenebrosa ). |
|
Swamphen ( Porphyrio ). |
(2) The Executive
Director may require any bird kept in captivity to be ringed or otherwise
marked with any ring or device or in any manner he stipulates and it shall be
an offence for any person required to do so to fail to ring or mark such bird
or to remove or for that or any other person to interfere in any manner with
any such ring mark or device unless authorised in writing to do so by the
Executive Director.
