OPTOMETRISTS ACT 2005 (NO. 29 OF 2005) - SECT 39

39 .         Voluntary removal from register and cancellation of registration

        (1)         An optometrist may, in writing, request the registrar to remove the name of that optometrist from the register and cancel the optometrist’s registration.

        (2)         Upon receipt of a request under subsection (1) the registrar is to refer the request to the Board and may, if the Board so approves, remove the name of the optometrist from the register and cancel the optometrist’s registration.

        (3)         This section does not apply to an optometrist who is the subject of proceedings under Part 5.
