Western Australian Numbered Acts (1) The Board is to
establish a committee to be known as the complaints assessment committee.
(2) The complaints
assessment committee is to consist of the following 3 persons appointed
in writing by the Board from time to time —
(a) an
optometrist (who may be a member of the Board);
(b) a
person who is not an optometrist and is not qualified to be registered as an
optometrist;
(c) such
other person (including an optometrist or member of the Board) as the Board
considers appropriate.
(3) The Board is to
appoint a member of the complaints assessment committee to be the
committee’s chairperson.
(4) The complaints
assessment committee is to submit an annual report to the Board as soon as is
practicable after 30 June in each year in respect of the functions
performed by the committee during the year that ended on that day.
(5) A notice or
appointment authorised by this Act to be given or made by the complaints
assessment committee is taken to have been given or made by the committee if
it is signed on behalf of the committee —
(a) by
the chairperson of the committee; or
(b) by
some other person authorised by the committee to sign the notice or
appointment.
