PSYCHOLOGISTS ACT 2005 (NO. 28 OF 2005) - SCHEDULE 3

1 .         Civil Liability Act 2002 amended

        (1)         The amendments in this clause are to the Civil Liability Act 2002 * .

        (2)         Section 5PA is amended in the definition of “health professional” by deleting paragraph (l) and the full stop after it and inserting instead —


            (l)         a psychologist as defined in the Psychologists Act 2005 section 3;

2 .         Constitution Acts Amendment Act 1899 amended

        (1)         The amendments in this clause are to the Constitution Acts Amendment Act 1899 *.

        (2)         Schedule V Part 3 is amended by deleting the item commencing “The Psychologists Board” and inserting instead —


The Psychologists Registration Board of Western Australia established under the Psychologists Act 2005 .

”.

3 .         Criminal Injuries Compensation Act 2003 amended

        (1)         The amendments in this clause are to the Criminal Injuries Compensation Act 2003 * .

        (2)         Section 3 is amended in the definition of “health professional” by deleting paragraph (c) and inserting instead —


            (c)         a psychologist as defined in the Psychologists Act 2005 section 3;

4 .         Firearms Act 1973 amended

        (1)         The amendments in this clause are to the Firearms Act 1973 * .

        (2)         Section 23B(3) is amended in the definition of “health professional” by deleting paragraph (b) and inserting instead —


            (b)         a psychologist as defined in the Psychologists Act 2005 section 3;

5 .         Health Professionals (Special Events Exemption) Act 2000 amended

        (1)         The amendments in this clause are to the Health Professionals (Special Events Exemption) Act 2000 *.

        [*         Act No. 7 of 2000. ]

        (2)         Section 3(1) is amended in the definition of “Health Registration Act” by deleting “ Psychologists Registration Act 1976 ; ” and inserting instead —

                “ Psychologists Act 2005; ”.

6 .         Health Services (Conciliation and Review) Act 1995 amended

        (1)         The amendments in this clause are to the Health Services (Conciliation and Review) Act 1995 *.

        (2)         Schedule 1 item 10 is deleted and the following item is inserted instead —

The Psychologists Registration Board of Western Australia established under the Psychologists Act 2005 .

7 .         Juries Act 1957 amended

        (1)         The amendments in this clause are to the Juries Act 1957 *.

        (2)         The Second Schedule Part II item 2 is amended by deleting “ Psychologists Registration Act 1976 ” and inserting instead —

                “ Psychologists Act 2005 ”.

8 .         Mental Health Act 1996 amended

        (1)         The amendments in this clause are to the Mental Health Act 1996 * .

        (2)         Section 3 is amended by deleting the definition of “psychologist” and inserting instead —


        “psychologist” has the meaning given to that term in section 3 of the Psychologists Act 2005 ;

9 .         State Administrative Tribunal Act 2004 amended

        (1)         The amendments in this clause are to the State Administrative Tribunal Act 2004 * .

        (2)         Schedule 1 is amended by deleting “ Psychologists Registration Act 1976 ” and inserting instead —
