For the purposes of section 18 of the Act, a notice by a medical practitioner of drug dependency –

(a) is to be in accordance with Form 1; and

(b) must be given to the Secretary as soon as practicable but in any case not later than 7 days after it appears to the medical practitioner that the person to whom the notice relates is suffering from drug dependency.
