Regulation 3 of the Principal Regulations is amended as follows:

(a) by inserting the following definition after the definition of ADQ :

eligible elector means a person entitled to vote at an election of trustees under clause 1 of Schedule 3 to the Act;

(b) by inserting the following definitions after the definition of field management fee :

initial election means the first election of trustees;

polling period means a period of at least 10 days, excluding Saturdays, Sundays and statutory holidays, within the meaning of the Statutory Holidays Act 2003 , ending on the day on which the poll closes;

(c) by omitting " regulation 8(2)(a) ." from the definition of region and substituting " regulation 8(2)(a) ;" ;

(d) by inserting the following definitions after the definition of region :

returning officer means a person appointed –

(a) under regulation 34 ; or

(b) by the Minister in accordance with clause 2(1) of Schedule 3 to the Act;

subsequent election means an election of trustees for a district, other than an initial election.
