Commonwealth Consolidated Regulations Commonwealth Consolidated Regulations(1) For the purposes of subsection 44(3) of the Act, a person may, in the approved form, request the Commissioner to direct an applicant for a standard patent to ask for an examination of the patent request and complete specification under subsection 44(2) of the Act.
(2) If an applicant has asked for an examination of the patent request and complete specification to be expedited, the Commissioner may do so if he or she is reasonably satisfied that:
(a) it is in the public interest; or
(b) there are special circumstances that make it desirable.
