Obstruction of authorised officer or inspector
206 Obstruction of authorised officer or inspector
(1) A person must not obstruct an authorised officer or inspector in the
exercise of a power unless the person has a reasonable excuse. Penalty—
Maximum penalty—500 penalty units.
(2) If a person has obstructed an
authorised officer or inspector and the officer or inspector decides to
proceed with the exercise of the power, the officer or inspector must warn the
person that— (a) it is an offence to obstruct the officer or inspector
unless the person has a reasonable excuse; and
(b) the officer or inspector
considers the person’s conduct an obstruction.
(3) In this section—
"obstruct" includes assault, hinder, resist and attempt or threaten to
obstruct.
