NATURE CONSERVATION ACT 1992 - SECT 70I
Management principles prevail
70I Management principles prevail
(1) A forest reserve must be managed under the management principles under
section 70F .
(2) If there is an inconsistency between the management
principles and a provision of the Forestry Act 1959 or the Land Act 1994 , the
management principles prevail to the extent of the inconsistency.
(3) Despite
sections 70G and 70H , an action must not be done in relation to the
management of a forest reserve if it is inconsistent with the management
principles.
(4) In this section—
"action" includes any of the following— (a) making, amending or renewing an
authority in relation to a forest reserve;
(b) converting an authority to
another form of authority;
(c) changing the purpose of an authority;
(d)
offering or agreeing to carry out an action under paragraphs (a) to (c) .
