15A—Duty of person in charge of vehicle in case of accidents involving
animals
Where an animal is injured in an accident involving a vehicle, the person in
charge of the vehicle must—
(a) take
such steps as are reasonably practicable in the circumstances to inform the
owner of the animal that the animal was injured; and
(b)
where, after taking such steps, that person has been unable to contact the
owner—inform an inspector, within 24 hours of the accident occurring, of
the circumstances of the accident.
Maximum penalty: $5 000.
Expiation fee: $315.
