16—Prohibition of use of animals for teaching or research unless
licensed
(1) Subject to
subsection (2), a person must not use an animal for the purposes
of—
(a)
teaching any science; or
(b)
research or experimentation,
without a licence under this Part.
Maximum penalty:
In relation to a body corporate—$50 000.
In relation to a natural person—$10 000.
(2) A employee is not
required to hold a licence under this Part in respect of anything done in the
course of employment by a person who holds a licence under this Part.
