Prohibition on unapproved persons acting as secretary of club
34 Prohibition on unapproved persons acting as secretary of club
(1) A person must not act as the secretary of a registered club unless the
person is the approved secretary of the club. : Maximum penalty--50 penalty
units.
(2) A registered club must not appoint a person to act as the
secretary of the club unless the person is the approved secretary of the club.
: Maximum penalty--100 penalty units.
(3) This section does not prevent a
person who is not the approved secretary of a registered club from acting, or
being appointed to act, as the secretary of a registered club for a period of
not more than 2 months (or such longer period as the Authority may, on
application by the person or club, approve) if the Authority is given notice
of the person's appointment as the secretary of the club within 7 days of the
appointment.
(4) In this section,
"approved secretary" of a registered club means the person approved by the
Authority under section 33 to act as the secretary of the club.
